Industry Overview

At its core, architecture is the planning, designing, and construction of physical structures. Although the 2008 financial crisis dramatically slowed construction, revenue for the industry was $1.73 trillion dollars accord to the US Census Bureau. Students wishing to enter this industry must begin prerequisite Architecture program classes their freshman year of undergraduate study and excel in the rigor of the program subsequent years. Applying for Architecture positions requires the development of a student portfolio and a well-crafted resume.

After the five-year B.Arch program, some firms may request candidates with a M.Arch, which can take anywhere from 1-5 years to complete.
