Career Resources — Arts

Industry Overview

At its core, the arts involve the creation, preservation, education, and expression of art. The industry can be informally broken down into different sub-sets, mainly: fine (visual) arts and museums. It’s important when studying the art industry that students distinguish between job functions and industry subsets, the former of which centers around specific roles where the latter is the environment which the role is situated in. Colleges and universities have a multitude of programs in the arts and job opportunities are extremely diverse.
