Finding Newspapers

Looking for a particular newspaper?

First, check the ND Catalog (at library.nd.edu), for that title. You may find the title, with the years you want, in any of the following formats: paper, microform or online.

For online, follow the links.

For paper, it is most likely in the Rare Books and Special Collections, and you can make an appointment to view them. rarebook@nd.edu

For microform, you may request assistance at the Ask-us desk, the main library desk. Microfilm, microfice, and reader-scanners are in the lower level of the Hesburgh Library.

What if the newspaper cannot be found here?

Check the catalog of the Center for Research Libraries (CRL), of which we are a member library.

Use the Newspaper Database of the National Library of Ireland to identify locations in Ireland and the UK for a newspaper.
