Opportunities for human resources may be nested under human capital or recruiting specialist type roles. HR-type positions can be found on Go IRISH during the recruiting seasons. As each organization has its own human resources department, many HR jobs can be found on company corporate websites. Students should be prepared to submit a polished resume and cover letter, and potentially a writing sample.

Interview Preparation

Having a successful HR interview depends greatly on the quality of responses to behavioral interview questions. Crafting rough draft answers to potential interview questions is important so that you accurately convey your past experiences to your interviewer. Be sure to know the strengths and weaknesses of the company and have a list of questions to ask at the end of the interview.

  • Read as much as you can about the HR industry, this particular role you are applying for, the HR functions within the organization in which you are applying and where your aspirations lie within the HR function.
