Each learning team (blue, gold, green) is assigned a database search method that will lead you to a specific document. As a group, perform the search method outlined for your group, and discuss the following:

  • What sort of content is available in this database?
  • What is the specific document you found generally about?
  • What do you like and dislike about the database?
  • How could your specific document, or other documents like it, be applied to your Foundations of Marketing assignment?

Be prepared to demonstrate the search process from beginning to end to the class as well as report back the answers to the questions above.

  2. See if you can find a SWOT analysis for your company.

    • If you cannot find one, explain why it was not there.

  3. Identify which industry your company operates in as well.

Blue Team B

  1. Take the following link to the database Mintel.

  2. Try to find a market report related to your company.

  3. From the report, see if you can find a data series related to consumer behavior in your company's market.

Gold Team

  1. Take the following link to the database Technavio

  2. Try to find a report related to the market your company operates in.

  3. Based on the report found, does the market seem to have growth potential?

Gold Team B

  1. Take the following link to the database IBISWorld

  2. Try to find an industry report related to your company.

  3. Once you find the report, see if you can find the market share of the major companies within the industry.
