Troubleshooting Remote Access

Troubleshooting General Issues

  • If you are experiencing issues with remote access databases failing to load in a browser, start with trying to clear your browse history/cache, and try accessing it using a different web browser.
  • If using a database that requires remote accessing a Mahaffey Business Library computer, be sure that you are connected to the VPN.

  • If using a database that requires remote accessing a Mahaffey Business Library computer on a Mac, you will need to download the Microsoft RDP client for MacOS to open the file to initiate remote access.

  • If using a database that requires remote accessing a Mahaffey Business Library computer, and all computers are listed as in use, wait a while for a computer to open up.

Troubleshooting Capital IQ

  • When signing in, if you receive an error saying the site domain key is invalid, reach out to Capital IQ’s customer support to reset your account password. This should resolve the issue.
  • Be sure that you are accessing Capital IQ using the library’s link as opposed to accessing it from an outside source, like Google.
  • If you receive errors with the database loading while connected to the Notre Dame VPN, access the database while disconnected from the VPN.

Troubleshooting Bloomberg

  • If you receive an error stating your account is locked, fill out the password reset form on Bloomberg, and this should unlock your account.
  • If you receive an error stating all terminals are in use while attempting to sign in, wait a while for a session to open up.
