CurateND : The Institutional Repository for the University of Notre Dame

Access and Discovery

How discoverable is my research? Items deposited into CurateND are indexed by Google, Google Scholar, or Google Books. Click here for detailed information.

► CurateND ensures that publicly available content is listed prominently by external search engines. Global access increases discoverability and allows central tracking for downloads and citations at the individual, department, college, or university level.

► Select items, including all dissertations and theses, are added to the Library Catalog. Please contact CurateND support if you would like your item to be discoverable in the Library Catalog.

► Depositors can set specific levels of access for both the content's record and the content itself. Levels of Access:

  • Public: This content is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines.

  • Embargo: This content is private until the date set by an editor, at which time the content becomes publicly available.

  • University of Notre Dame: This content is only visible to patrons with an active Notre Dame NetID.

  • Private: This content is only visible to the depositor. You have the option of generating private links for your content to those you wish to have access.

► People who leave or graduate from Notre Dame can only upload files and view private items until their University NetID is deactivated, which usually happens within 48 hours of departing the University.

► External collaborators can only view public content in the repository.

► If you are actively working with collaborators from different institutions, please see the Open Science Framework.
