This guide is designed to support your work in the Father Edward Sorin Letters Project course (ROFR 33360). Under the guidance and supervision of French Studies faculty and the University Archives, students in this course will transcribe and translate (French to English) the letters sent and received by Father Edward Sorin between the years 1839-1893. These letters will become part of a digital exhibit on the history of the University of Notre Dame.
For information related to the historical context of the letters which you will be translating, please review the Resources - Historical Context page. We will continue to add to this page as we come across other resources related to the time period which may be useful for this project.
To reference other French-language resources which are relevant to the work of this project, we've included a Resources - French language page which lists the resources included on your syllabus, as well as others which the library has made available.
