Architecture Library Makerspace

About the Makerspace

Established in 2013, Architecture Library's 3D Makerspace works closely with undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff on all things three-dimensional. As a free consultation and 3D printing resource, the space caters primarily to studio and thesis work. Though the Makerspace specializes in 3D modeling and printing, we encourage a multimedia approach to projects, and are eager to work with students to determine the best scale, material, level of detail, and assembly strategy for their particular design.

All printing is done in-house by Makerspace staff on our multiple printers. All print files are modeled by students, with help from staff available at all levels, from directing students to SketchUp tutorials to troubleshooting finished models.

Location

The Makerspace is located on the lower level of the Architecture Library in the Walsh Family Hall of Architecture, room B51C.

The Makerspace is generally open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some evening are covered by makerspace student workers.
