State and Local Resources

State and public libraries can offer services to residents that may make some resources available. It's worth a visit or phone call to those libraries to determine what services might be available to you based on your place of residence. Public universities may also offer access to collections and resources depending on where you live. The links that follow are for residents of the Michiana area or the State of Indiana. Similar services may be available in other localities.

Hesburgh Libraries Alumni Borrowing Privileges
Alumni of Notre Dame living in the Michiana area and in good standing with the Alumni Association may request borrowing privileges. Email Circulation at circ@nd.edu to request an application.

Indiana University Alumni & Friends
Many of the IU Libraries’ resources are available to anyone, anywhere in the world. In-person visitors to the Libraries who are not part of the Bloomington campus community may request a Library Guest Account to allow them full access from inside the IU Bloomington Libraries.
Indiana University Libraries Borrower's Card
Residents of the state of Indiana can get an Indiana University Libraries' Borrowers Card.
