Arabic, Near Eastern, and Islamic studies is an umbrella term for a range of multidisciplinary study centered on the study of Arab and Islamic society, including culture, politics, religion and other aspects of these three rubrics. It brings together a range of disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, linguistics, historiography, archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural studies, Economics, Geography, History, International relations, Law, Literature, Philosophy, Psychology, Political science, Public administration and Sociology. Islamic studies generally refers to the historical study of Islam: Islamic civilization, Islamic history and historiography, Islamic law, Islamic theology and Islamic philosophy.
