Rule of Law: Books and Treatises

meeScan | Euclid Public Library

Books and Treatises

The rule of law is a wide-ranging and interdisciplinary topic. As noted in Prof. Burset’s introduction, “In fact, one major theme in rule-of-law scholarship and practice is the difficulty of finding a universally acceptable definition”.

The following publications are a particularly relevant sample that may be found in either the Kresge Law Library or Hesburgh Libraries. Some are available electronically.

The Kresge Law Library catalog may be searched here: https://innopac.law.nd.edu/

The Hesburgh Libraries catalog may be searched here: https://library.nd.edu/

You might start with a Subject or general keyword search approach using "Rule of Law". Customizing with additional terms like “human rights”, “constitutional law”, “civil law”, or “law and ethics” may help yield more targeted results.
