Overview of Film, Television, and Theatre

Film, also known as cinema, focuses on the history, theory and criticism of movies.  Production techniques, such as screenwriting and digital video design, are included.  Television incorporates a critical study of the medium within its cultural context, and also teaches practical production skills.  Theatre focuses on live performance and associated scholarly research.  Its study includes behind-the-scenes operations such as acting techniques, costume design, and stage management.
