Career Resources — Human Resources

Industry Overview

At its core, human resources is the management of an organization’s staff. Every organization, in some capacity, has an HR department which is responsible for recruiting and onboarding new employees, handling the exit of soon-to-be former employees, managing real-time employees, employee benefits and development. HR professionals wear many hats and work with staff on salaries, tax forms, insurance and other benefits, rotational and training programs, and many other workforce elements. As finding the right people and retaining talent becomes ever more important, the need for HR professionals will continue to grow.
