Mary Wollstonecraft at Notre Dame

As a part of the NEH Wollstonecraft Edition project to create accessible editions of Wollstonecraft's works, on this page, you will find digitized copies of the 1st and 2nd editions of A Vindication of the Rights of Men and A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. Included also is a digitized edition of "Hints,"  Wollstonecraft's manuscript notes for a never-completed second volume of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, published in Wollstonecraft, Posthumous Works, ed. William Godwin (London: Joseph Johnson, 1798), Vol. 4, pp. 177-95. 

The digital facsimiles are in the forms of searchable PDF files and were created by Amanda Gulley, Media Digitization Specialist in coordination with Eileen M. Hunt and Nancy E. Johnson.

The editions upon which these digital facsimiles are based can be accessed at the Hesburgh Library's Rare Books and Special Collections department. Call numbers have been listed with their corresponding facsimile.
