Overview of Latin American Studies

Latin American Studies is the term used to describe scholarly investigations in history, political science, sociology, anthropology, economics, literature and other disciplines for the region encompassing the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of the Western Hemisphere. The present guide is meant to serve students and faculty from all campus disciplines with an interest in Latin America.
